Order of words in French ?

In the sentence,

"Est-ce que vous vous promeniez `a la montagne ?"

Can someone explain why you repeat vous?

In response to that question the answer is,

"Oui, mais maintenant nous nous promenons au parc."

same thing, they repeat nous.

Thanks in advance!!|||You just have to accept that French has what we call 'reflexive verbs' - a conjugation of which has already been given to you by the first answerer.

E.g. I get washed = I wash myself in French - je me lave.

Se promener happens to be one of these pronominal, or reflexive, verbs.|||the verb is a reflexive verb, you recognize a reflexive verb because of "se", the verb isn't promener but SE promener

you need to conjugate the se as well, so:

je me prom猫ne

tu te prom猫nes

il se prom猫ne

nous nous promenons

vous vous promenez

ils se prom猫nent

there's no logic here, but sometimes "se" means each other e.g. se battre = to fight (with each other) while simply battre means to beat|||It is not hard :

We repeat the "vous" and the "nous" because the nature of the verb in the sentence is "SE promener" thats why you have to repeat hope I helped :-)|||Because this verb can be used as a pronominal verb.

Je prom猫ne mon chien. Here it's not used as a pronominal verb.
